Kent Starr opened Liquor World on N. College Ave. in 1993 after working in the liquor store business in Fayetteville for 13 years. Based on his experience, he saw an opportunity to provide something no other store in the area was providing a truly expansive selection of wine, spirits and beer backed by one-on-one personal customer service.

Over ten years, Kent and his knowledgeable staff have worked to educate customers about their products, especially wine, to help them find their own wine tastes and move past the mystique of buying wines from around the world. When you walk into Liquor World, you will always find someone who can help you with expert knowledge of the products, prices and the story layout itself. After you've checked out, a staff member is always happy to carry your purchase to the car.

Liquor World offers more than 200 beer choices including domestic, craft and import brews. Customers can browse through an extensive selection of single-barrel bourbons, single-malt Scotches, premium tequilas, imported vodkas, liqueurs and other spirits.

But the real treat is the more than 4,000 square feet of wines, priced from less than $10 to over $100, from wine regions around the world—France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, South Africa, Chile, Australia, New Zealand, California, Washington, Oregon, and the list goes on.

With the help of General/Wine Manager Kim Neeper-Crawford, Liquor World offers education and events geared toward helping customers become wine connoisseurs. Kim has traveled extensively through Europe and California attending well-known wine events, and has studied under Karen MacNeil at the Culinary Institute of America in Napa.
