Malbec, a beautiful, luscious black grape variety, is primarily famous as a Bordeaux blending wine. Malbec has come into its own as a favorite grape in Argentinean wines. The high altitude vineyards of Argentina are graced with 340 days of sunshine a year, producing one good vintage after another. The essence of Melbec wines...rich, fat and juicy, with black and red fruit balanced by a smoky earthiness.

The Cabernet Sauvignon/Merlot blend has intense dark, black currant flavors and rich tannins, with a plumy, violet nose and full finish. The Pinotage is ripe and full-boddied with lush tannins and subtle, peppery notes. Sip the Serengeti Shiraz, with mellow tannins, spicy flavors and dense blackberry fruit. The Sauvignon Blanc, a good food wine, has complex layers of citrus, grapefruit, gooseberry and lime with a dry finish.
Food Friendly Goiya Wines Goiya, in the San Bushman language, means "first wine". Goiya wines are the new releases from each vintage from WestCorp's vineyards in the Elephant River basin, South Africa. Garretson Catfish Cuveé Garretson Wine Company is producing some nicely blended and delightfully balanced wines for your sipping pleasure. Garretson Wine Company is located in Paso Robles, California, also known as the "Rhone Zone", and headed by wine maker Mat Garretson, also known as Mr. Viognier (for his obvious obsession). 2004 Catfish Cuveé Central Coast White Wine, made from 54% Viognier and 46% Roussanne, has aromas of lime, white peach, lavender, coconut, quince and pepper, with peach, lime, spice and tropical fruits on the palate. 2003 Catfish Cuveé Central Coast Red Wine is a nice combination of 70% Syrah, 23% Grenache, 10% Mourvedre and 8% Viognier. Bright garnet in color, this blend has aromas of raspberry, white peach, blueberry, spice box and white pepper, with intensity of fruit.
