Xanadu Shiraz (Australia)

Lovers of literature remember Xanadu as Coleridge's mysterious, idyllic, exotic city; home of Kubla Khan. Lovers of wine, however, know Xanadu as an equally idyllic setting in the South West corner of Australia; home to one of the region’s most respected vineyards. Xanadu has identified the Frankland River region as a rising star with respect to the production of premium quality Shiraz.
The color of this wine is a deep red with vibrant purple hues. The bouquet offers a combination of spicy, blackberry and mocha chocolate characters with hints of violets and beautifully integrated oak.

The full-bodied palate is rich and generous with inky, ripe fruits of the forest and complex, earthy characters. A solidly structured wine with firm, dusty tannins and powerful berry fruit flavors that persist through to a warm, lingering finish.

This Shiraz will develop into a wine of great complexity, and will reward with careful cellaring.
