Elouan Pinot Noir
Oregon

The Opulence of California, the Elegance of Oregon… the result of California winemakers venturing up to Oregon. The goal: to produce Pinot Noir with depth of flavor, vibrancy and suppleness. For this wine they brought together fruit from three regions along Oregon’s coast: Willamette, Umpqua and Rogue Valleys, which harmonize beautifully when blended together. The diversity of these cool climate areas combined with an elongated growing season creates wine with intense structure, while maintaining a vibrant acidity that differentiates it from Pinot Noirs from other regions.

The delicate nature of Oregon Pinot Noir requires a soft hand in the cellar. The clusters were 100% destemmed with a few select lots having small amounts of stems added back to the fermenter for phenolic augmentation. The wine was aged for ten months in a mix of new and seasoned French oak and racked upon completion of malolactic fermentation.

Conundrum White
California

A beautiful light hue, this wine opens with the evocative scents of apricot, pear and honeysuckle, as well as bright notes of orange and lemon meringue pie. The entry on the palate has a subtle sweetness immediately balanced by a natural acidity and pop of freshness. Flavors of peach, apple and citrus are layered with with a touch of oak that comes from our use of barrel fermentation for a portion of the wine. The finish is long, with distinctive hints of each varietal creating a final, lingering impression.

Camus Cabernet Sauvignon
California

Camus Cabernets are a blend of wines from eight of the sixteen sub-appellations – a bottling that represents complexity through judicious blending. Deep red and opulent in color with the vibrant scent of dark cherry and blackberry, subtly layered with warm notes of vanilla. The palate is explosive, bright and balanced with cassis at the center, with flourishes of cocoa and sweet tobacco.

Decoy Pinot Noir
California

Building on the traditions established by Duckhorn's acclaimed Goldeneye and Migration Pinot Noir, Decoy Pinot Noir continues Duckhorn Wine Company's exploration of the depth and diversity of Sonoma County winegrowing.

Made from a blend of Pinot Noir grapes from the Russian River Valley, Sonoma Coast and Carneros, this vivid and alluring wine displays a beautiful bouquet of fresh-picked strawberry, raspberry and blackberry, with hints of violet and white pepper. On the palate, the tannins are soft and silky, carrying the wine to a long, ripe berry finish. Perfect wine for the holidays!

Louis Jadot Beaujolais Villages
France

The Beaujolais Villages area is located to the South of Beaujolais, in the Rhône Department, close to Lyon. This wine is made from 100% Gamay grapes. Strong red purple color. Fresh red fruits on the nose with a hint of dark cherry. Slightly spicy with a touch of grey pepper, liquorice and a touch of rose flower. The whole wine is very well balanced with a nice acidity and the tannins presence on the finish invites food pairing such as with Terrines, Charcuteries, Grilled red meat, white fish, cheese or simply as the sole wine of a meal.

Gerard Bertrand Kosmos (Steve’s favorite!)
France

This organic wine, produced with a natural and biodynamic approach, is an interesting blend of 30% Syrah, 20% Grenache, 10% Mourvèdre, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Merlot, 10% Malbec and 10% Marselan. It offers pronounced earthy characteristics, as well as a citrusy kick (like tangerine oil) to the blueberry and blackberry fruit core. The mouthfeel is creamy and velvety, with plush tannins and lingering baking-spice flavors. 89 Points from Wine Enthusiast

Fernanda Capello Pinot Grigio
Italy

The grape came to Friuli from France over a hundred years ago, and derives from a German mutation of the Pinot Nero. It has found its ideal habitat in Friuli. Pinot Ggrigio is today the most cultivated variety in Friuli, so much so that, after due consideration, it has earned the name "Prince of Friuli”.

In the glass, this Pinot Grigio, with its straw-yellow tones touched with copper tones which recall the color of its grapes, very unique and individual; its fluidity in the glass shows it is an important wine, with good consistency.

When brought to the nose, it gives off apple, ripe melon, powder and toast smells, which make it inviting to taste. We find it savory and compact on the palate: it never leaves us without a moment of breaking, the olfactory notes which recur on the palate give us a very pleasurable fresh feeling.

Wines of Substance Cabernet
Washington State

Depth and layer upon layer, black cassis, dark cherry, tobacco leaf and morels. Then, pushes on to a full palate, that is savory, mineral driven and earthbound. Smooth, long, compelling... in a word: harmonious. This critically acclaimed wine is made from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, native fermented, aged in French oak and bottled unfined and unfiltered. It’s a killer value that has lots of blue fruits, violets, graphite and leafy herbs in medium to full-bodied, concentrated, layered style.

2013 Green & Red Zinfandel

Tip Top Vineyard (Exceptional vintage!)

ESTATE GROWN AND BOTTLED

Tasting Notes:
This vintage expresses our uppermost mountain vineyard grown at 1700 ft above the Pacific. Dark cherry and raspberry aromas spiced with bay laurel and the surrounding chaparral.

Realm Cellars - The Bard
Napa Valley, California

This wine is a true blend, with17 different components represented. The art of blending this wine is to choose the vineyards that are compatible. It’s like a game - which vineyards are complementary?

The Bard opens up right away, an explosion of fruit with mouth - watering acid, and a beautiful texture. Drinking well now but cellar-worthy.

Cirq Treehouse Pinot Noir
Russian River Valley, California

Treehouse is hard to figure out. The vineyard is located eight miles from the Pacific Ocean and yet, 100 yards away, lies a stand of coastal cypress. Nobody can explain it. Why those trees thrive in that place, when every other tree is either a redwood or a fir, is a mystery. Or perhaps, an omen. The vineyard sits at an elevation of 750 feet. Elevation is key. Too high and the vines get too stressed. Too low and they get too vigorous.

Aromatics: A riot of red fruits and baked pie. Cranberry, cherries, dark plum and ripe rhubarb combine with cedarbox, wild fennel and spice. Savory notes of sage a wild herbs.

Flavors: Ripe bing cherry and baked blackberry pie fill the palate. Intense and pretty at the same time. Sweet oak and baking spice play a supporting role to the fruit.

Mouthfeel: Explosive with mouthwatering acidity. Youthful and grippy tannins saturate the palate to give immense length and a captivating dry finish. Hard to forget.

Roy Estate Proprietary Red
Napa Valley, California

Proprietary Red immediately seduces the senses with a smoky, dark cherry impression that opens to reveal intense, ripe boysenberry, mixed wild berry and plum aromas. It delivers on many different levels, a true expression of both the vintage and ROY Estate. On the palate, masculine notes of black pepper, flint, dark chocolate and black tea are combined with an alluring hint of clove and French oak derived vanilla characteristics harmoniously bringing great richness, texture and depth. The finish is lengthy with fine tannins and a beautifully polished texture.

Lagavulin 8 Year
Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky

Released to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the founding of Lagavulin distillery by John Johnston in 1816, this eight-year-old is big and smoky, with sweet spice that becomes apparent with a drop of water. Inspired by the visit of Alfred Barnard to the distillery in the 1880s when he tried an 'exceptionally fine' eight-year-old from the distillery, this is a fitting tribute for the milestone.

Smirnoff Peppermint Twist

Deliciously cool and sweet candied peppermint aroma. Perfect as a chilled shot or creatively mixed in your favorite holiday cocktail…and of course, candy cane garnish is a must!

Full Throttle Moonshine

Nestled in the sleepy little town of Trimble in Northwest Tennessee, the Full Throttle Distillery has quickly become a true local gem. Fashioned after the old Trimble Cotton Gin that previously occupied the property for almost 100 years. Highlighting an authentic and striking all copper pot and thumper still itching to distill another small batch of Tennessee Whiskey new make spirit.

Tin Roof Rougarou

Stories abound of the night-lurking, bayou-wandering creature of Cajun lore, the Rougarou, a shadow that haunts night walkers who venture into his realm. Like its namesake, this dark, malty beast of a brew will maul your palate with a vicious hop backbone, elusive roast undertones and an intense aroma.
ABV 9.7%, 108 IBUs

Sierra Nevada Trip in the Woods Barrel Aged Series

Sierra Nevada Brewing released some exciting new barrel-aged and spiced beers in the Trip in the Woods series.

Sierra Nevada Trip in the Woods Narwhal Imperial Stout

Aged in Bourbon Barrels with Red and Black Currants
Sierra Nevada aged this rich, chocolaty imperial stout in bourbon barrels with a mix of both red and black currants for a pop of sweet and tart flavor. The deep, roasty notes of the stout blend well with the berries and barrels to create complex flavors of cocoa and coconut with a mellow fruit undertone.

Sierra Nevada Trip in the Woods Barrel-Aged Bière de Garde

Bières de Garde are “beers for aging” in the classic sense—round and complex with flavors that ebb and flow over time. This version is a blend of robust Belgian-style ales matured in barrels for layered flavors of straw, fruit, oak, and the unique spice notes of traditional Belgian yeast. Aged in red wine barrels.

Sierra Nevada Trip in the Woods Ginger Bigfoot

This edition features a bourbon barrel-aged barleywine, with added fresh ginger. The ginger gives this strong ale a bright, zesty character. This is a special version of their barrel-aged Bigfoot Barleywine Ale with fresh ginger added into the barrels. The resulting kick of ginger mellows Bigfoot’s ferocious hop bite and adds a new level of brightness and complexity. The beer features notes of burnt sugar, orange zest, vanilla, and candied ginger. 12.6% ABV

Stone Enjoy By 12.25.16 Unfiltered IPA
#NoFilter Fresh
Open Before Christmas

In most cases, skipping a step is a bad thing. Not this time. This version of Stone Enjoy By IPA omits the part where we filter out the extra yeast, hop sediment and proteins that build up in beer as a natural result of the brewing process. Though it may sound like it, this missed step was no misstep. By letting this IPA go unfiltered, its peach and tropical fruit hop flavors are amplified while its golden-hued color takes on a hazy appearance. Like its filtered counterpart, this IPA is brewed specifically NOT to last, and is shipped immediately to ensure hopheads get their hands on it as soon as possible.
ABV 9.4%

Marshall El Cucuy

In Latin American cultures, El Cucuy is an imaginary creature of the dark, similar to the boogeyman, which haunts the minds of children and adults alike. El Cucuy India-style Black Ale features dark roasted notes that sneak up on the subdued caramel malt backbone and the irresistible bitterness creating a harmonious and frighteningly delicious balance. But beware, this beer is dry-hopped providing an intensely vibrant floral and citrusy aroma and at 8.6% abv is not a monster to be carelessly dealt with. Be good or the Cucuy will get you!
ABV: 8.6 %, 80 IBUs

Prairie Artisan Ales Christmas Bomb
Imperial Stout Brewed with Spices

Brewed by Prairie Artisan Ales out of Tulsa. Pours as dark as Krampus’ soul. This Imperial Stout is aged on espresso beans, chocolate, vanilla beans and ancho chile peppers, then blended with a variety of holiday spices. Extremely limited.
ABV 11.5%

Six Point Global Warmer

No one can deny the beer climate is changing. Extreme bittering patterns and massive flavor oscillations are the new normal.

Experts have determined that IBU levels of beers have been rising at an alarming rate and the Mad Scientists have concluded that this will have a lasting impact on our Beer Climate. Take, for instance, the Winter Seasonal. The snow-covered cabins and bucolic winter scenes have melted down. Now, beers are inundated with spices and infusions, torrential downpours of hops flood our tastebuds, and cloying beers coat our palates like oil slicks. But while some folks are running for the hills, the Mad Scientists have continued formulating in coastal Red Hook with rising tides lapping at their heels.

The Global Warmer is their third brew to go in tall, slim cans, and is 7% ABV with 70 searing IBUs. After a nose characterized by big hop character, an ample, coating bitterness rushes the palate. The malt is a pleasant contrast; it’s soft and complex, with notes of biscuit and toasted caramel. And the malt presence is deep enough that you’ll detect dark fruit and even mild hints of chocolate as your brew warms.

Lost Forty Forest Queen

In preparation for winter, Lost Forty out of Little Rock is brewing and fine-tuning small batches of their winter seasonals. First up? Forest Queen Milk Stout.

Forest Queen is the more sumptuous yet lighter bodied counterpart to their Forest King Imperial Stout. Lower in ABV, but rich in flavors of toasted cacao nibs, sweetened espresso, cacao berries, and roasted coffee beans. In addition to roasted barley used for deep, delicious flavors, Forest Queen Milk stout includes lactose, or milk sugar. Milk sugar is a non-fermentable sugar, meaning a touch of residual sweetness remains in each batch lending a luscious mouthfeel, velvety medium body, and luxurious finish. 5.3% ABV, 8 IBUs
