Wine, Beer & Spirits Serving Size Party Guide

The following serving sizes are standard for wine, beer & spirits. Just decide about how many servings each of your guests will have to determine how many bottles or kegs you need. And remember, heavy hands lead to hurting heads!

Wine & Champagne:
Assuming you are using a standard wine glass, which holds about 5 ounces, a good rule of thumb is that a standard 750 mL bottle will yield approx 5-6 glasses. A magnum or 1.5 L bottle will give your party guests about 10-12 servings. A case of wine generally provides 60-65 servings.

Spirits:
Assuming you mix one cocktail with one jigger of spirits (about 1.5 oz. of liquor), you will be able to get 17 mixed cocktails from a fifth or 750 mL bottle. A quart (1 L) bottle will yield about 22 cocktails, and a half gallon (1.75 L) makes about 39 cocktails.

Beer:
If you pour the equivalent of one can or bottle of beer (12 oz.) per serving, a 5-gallon keg will yield 53 servings. A 7.75-gallon keg will give your guests about 82 servings, and a 15.5-gallon keg will pour 164 servings.
