What better way to compare wines and have fun with friends than to host your own wine tasting. Four to six people is a nice sized group. Choose your focus for the type of wine you want to taste, such as a particular varietal. Or perhaps you want to explore wines from around the world. Download a pdf of our Summer Newsletter and read The Art of Wine Tasting article about the 4 S's of wine tasting ~ See, Swirl, Sniff and Sip. ~ Choose 4 to 6 wines you want to sample. If you are tasting white wines, be sure they are lightly chilled before your guests arrive. ~ Print out copies of our Tasting Notes page from our website ~ Pour your guests 2 ounces of the first wine you are all sampling, beginning with the lightest bodied wines. ~ Make notes on your impressions and have fun with it. - Provide snacks to cleanse the palate between tastings, such as crackers, cheese and olives.
