September 12th – 18th

Ravenswood Vintners Blend Zinfandel • California

This Zinfandel has a rich, somewhat soft, moderately complex, spicy, ripe, raspberry aroma. The flavors are those of black cherries, mint and vanilla with a sturdy, astringent finish. This red is a wonderful complement to pasta, poultry, red meats and other highly flavored dishes.

Murphy Goode Fume Blanc • California

70% percent of this Fume was tank fermented cold in stainless steel tanks while the balance was fermented in French and American oak barrels. Resulting in an intensely fruity wine that has an enticing floral note in the nose leading to flavors of ripe grapefruit with a hint of passion fruit. Try this Fume with briny oysters on the half shell, or piping hot calamari.

September 19th – 25th

Pierre Sparr Alsace One
France
Floral, citrus and peach notes grace this gentle, balanced white, whose subtlety belies an underlying persistence, ending in a long, languid finish. Riesling, Pinot Blanc, Muscat, Gewurztraminer and Pinot Gris. A great deal from the famous French region. Drink now through 2004.

Louis Jadot Beaujolais Villages
France
Beaujolais has become one of the world's most widely appreciated wines, particularly in the United States. This Beaujolais is a vivacious, succulent wine of exceptional charm, full of bright, floral fruit flavors underscored by youthful, peppery notes and plump tannins. Delicious slightly chilled; its lively freshness is best appreciated when young.

September 26th – October 2nd

Echelon Syrah
California
This syrah has dark raspberry and blackberry character with hints of pepper and spice in the nose. Ample oak and beautifully soft tannins frame the layers of fruit flavors on the palate. The wine has excellent balance and a long aftertaste. The deep garnet color makes this offering a pleasure to the eye while the taste pleases the palate. It begs to be enjoyed with cheese dishes, grilled meats or spicy entrees.

Echelon Chardonnay
California
Made from the producers of the famed Chalone Chardonnay, this extreme value Chardonnay is highly aromatic with forward aromas reminiscent of apples, pears, and nutmeg. Full and viscous with complex flavors, it has a crisp finish so that it can be enjoyed by itself or with food. Perfect with fish, pasta dishes with oil, butter or cream sauces, chicken with mushrooms, turkey and most cheeses.

Rosemount Shiraz
Australia
Shiraz is the most widely planted grape in Australia. It is known for producing outstanding rich reds with a classic spicy finish. This Shiraz is no exception, the palate is dominated by well-defined, ripe fruit, a soft, generous mid-palate and a long, rich finish.

Rosemount Chardonnay
Australia
One of the world's best-known Chardonnays. This white wine displays fresh aromas of peach and melon with hints of citrus. A creamy background, with a touch of oak, gently lingers on the palate. This is a great, casual wine. Ideally suited to Chicken, Seafood and Veal.

October 10th – 16th

Frescobaldi Remole Chianti
Italy
This well-balanced, dry red wine is produced from Sangiovese, Canaiolo, Trebbiano and other select grapes. It has intense ruby red color, with a rich earthy scent, and hints of sweet violet. Remole starts soft on the palate and is characterized by clean, delicate fruit.

Torresella Pinot Grigio
Italy
Light, aromas of fresh fruit, apple, and melon great you as you open this bottle of Pinot Grigio. The crisp and clean flavors come from fermentation and aging in stainless steel tanks. These flavors are followed by a dry and beautifully, balanced finish. An excellent complement to soups, anti-pasta, prosciutto, melon, light fish, and pastas.

October 17th – 23rd

Robert Mondavi Coastal Private Selection Cabernet Sauvignon
California
A rich, deep red color and velvety layers of plum, blackberry and casis are highlighted in this bottle of Cabernet. Elegant flavors and silky texture reflects grapes grown in the warmer regions of Monterey and San Louis Obispo counties. Robert Mondavi Coastal Private Selection Chardonnay

October 24th – 30th

Covey Run Merlot
Washington State
The dark, red color, cherry fruit and warm, smoky toast flavors apparent in this wine are all descriptors for Washington Merlot. A small percentage of Cabernet and Cabernet Franc were added at bottling to add complexity to the Merlot character. The resulting blend is attractively fruity with a medium ruby color.

Covey Run Chardonnay
Washington State
The wine is bursting with flavors of apples, pears, bananas and tropical fruit, along with soft hints of vanilla and toast. Made to be served with food, it is still well suited as an aperitif. Try serving it with fish, chicken dishes, salad courses, or with any other style of lighter foods.
