November 17 December 31, 2005
November 17th - November 24th (Thanksgiving Wines)
Silverado Chardonnay
Napa Valley, California
This Napa Valley Chardonnay has citrus and ripe yellow apple aromas with a hint of oak and butter. It also expresses ripe citrus, vanilla and juicy fruit flavors; medium body with a round texture and balanced acidity yielding a long and lingering finish. This wine has long been a Liquor World favorite, and at this price, it's a steal.
Kenwood Pinot Noir
Russian River Valley, Sonoma
Kenwood Vineyards is pleased to release the 2003 Russian River Pinot Noir. The cool climatic conditions of the Russian River Valley make it one of California's best regions for growing the delicate Pinot Noir grape. Kenwood produces its Russian River blend from vineyards located off River Road, where the rocky soil and the ocean's cooling influence create the ideal conditions for growing Pinot Noir grapes.
Coppola Sofia Rose
California
Coppola's Pinot Noir grower manages about 1,000 acres of vines, which consist primarily of the Pommard Clone and Clone 114. The grapes are allowed to cold soak for 48 hours to extract color. Then, a cold fermentation at 50' follows, so that the wine will retain the crisp acidity that is critical for this style of wine. The Sofia Rosé exudes aromas of fresh strawberries and rose petals. Bright and lively, this wine offers generous flavors of juicy black cherry, raspberry and kiwi fruit while being dry and refreshing on the palate.
November 25-30
Liberty School Cabernet Sauvignon
California
The aromatic complexity of this wine is very engaging; blackberry brambles and layers of dark cherry, chocolate and cassis, combine in a way typical of Cabernet Sauvignon in its most pure expression. On the palate, initial softness amplifies into a warm, supple firmness. The flavors in the mouth clearly evoke the aromas found in the nose. While this wine is approachable, balanced and elegant today,
it will drink beautifully for up to five years from the vintage date.
Liberty School Chardonnay
California
Fruit for the Liberty School Chardonnay is sourced from exceptional vineyard sites in the Santa Lucia Highlands of Monterey County. Greatly influenced by maritime breezes off the Monterey Bay, these cooler climate vineyards produce lush, ripe fruit that is well
balanced by bright, crisp acidity. The wine's fruit-driven character and healthy acidity make it an excellent companion to a wide variety of foods and preparation techniques.
December 1-7
Greg Norman "California" Petite Sirah
California
If you're in the mood to try something different, check out this Petite Sirah. Its dark purple color (some say "inky") suggests that this is no typical red. Actually, the heritage of the grape is debated. Some think petite sirah is really another grape called durif (that was once grown in the French Rhone region) and others say it's more complicated than that. A taste brings to mind a thick slice of juicy blackberry pie, but also show plum and dried fruit. It is rich and lush, and has a just the right amount of spiciness in the finish
Greg Norman "California" Chardonnay
California
The Chardonnay is light and refreshing, with a hint of crispness. The citrus aroma is punctuated with lemon zest. On the palate, guava, pear and nectarine flavors at the forefront, give way to layers of tropical fruit characters. Subtle vanilla notes and a bit of light spice round out a smooth, bright finish. There are a total of 5 different varieties of Greg's California wines.
December 8-14

Republic Sauvignon Blanc Sonoma
Russian River, California
This flavorful Sauvignon Blanc has classic pale-straw color with rich pineapple, grapefruit, and tropical fruit layers and a touch of herbal "green" Sauvignon notes. This vintner was able to juggle delicious fruitiness and refreshing acidity supported by a surprising richness and length of finish. Try this wine with almost any of your favorite foods.
Pelligrini Olivet Lane Pinot Noir
Russian River, California
This Pinot Noir is made from some of the Russian River Valley's finest fruit which forms a rich, supple, altogether complete wine. Strawberry aromas lead the way to bright fruit flavors and velvet tannins. Although oak and fruit overwhelm the essence of terroir in that robust, Californian style, this wine can easily be regarded as one of the Golden State's most refined Pinots. We know you won't get "Sideways" with this Pinot.
December 15-24 (Special Christmas Wines)
Newton Red Label Chardonnay
Napa Valley, California
Situated high on the dramatic slopes of Spring Mountain overlooking the Napa Valley, Newton Vineyard is blessed with a unique diversity of soils, exposures and elevations that create an exceptional winemaking environment. The Red Label Chardonnay from Newton is characterized by exotic fruit with hints of citric fruit, crisp in the mouth and rich in finish. This beautiful Chardonnay would grace any special Christmas dinner.
Justin Cabernet Sauvignon
Central Coast, California
Justin Cabernet Sauvignon is a great value. Its deep ruby/purple color is accompanied by a lovely nose of plums, raisins, black currants, and spicy oak. Fleshy, with attractive purity, richness, and density, this complex, high quality Cabernet Sauvignon should drink well today and for years to come.
Benjamin Port
Australia
Benjamin Port is oakey, very creamy, sweet, and it has hints of orange and perhaps banana. Even a Port snob will rave about this port and will advise that it should be bought by the case and shared liberally with friends. This is the perfect finish to your special holiday.
December 25-31
(New Year's Sparklers)

Schramsberg Blanc de Noir
California
Blanc de Noirs (white from black) is the counterpart of Blanc de Blancs (white from white). Made at Schramsberg from the red wine grape Pinot Noir, this is a delicious, fruitful, full-bodied sparkling wine. Schramsberg pioneered the Blanc de Noirs style in the United States, releasing the first such American sparkler in 1967.
Roederer Anderson Valley Brut
California
Roederer Estate Anderson Valley Brut builds on the 200-year winemaking tradition established by Champagne Louis Roederer in France. The first California sparkling wine produced by Roederer, the Anderson Valley Brut has established a reputation as one of California's premier sparklers. Equally comfortable with candlelight dinners and New Year's Eve celebrations, the Anderson Valley Brut is not just for toasting! It's also wonderful with egg dishes (think brunch), sushi, spicy Asian food, fish and white meats with creamy sauces
Taittinger Brut La Francaise
Champagne, France
From the first pressing of select grapes from the finest areas of Champagne, "La Française" contains more of the costly Chardonnay grape than most brut Champagnes. Light and elegant, with subtle body and bouquet. Taittinger Brut Réserve is a blend of some 30 Chardonnay wines (40%) and Pinot wines (60%), from a number of different vineyards and matured to perfection. Such a high proportion of Chardonnay is seldom found among the great champagnes.
