Le Grand Noir Pinot Noir
France

From a country renowned for its wine-making tradition, Le Grand Noir wines offer untraditional blends from traditional French varietals.  With the black sheep on the label, Le Grand Noir captures the off-the-beaten-path spirit of these French wines.  The results are wines that are as unconventional as France is conventionally wine country. This Pinot Noir is bright garnet with a leathery, meaty nose and flavors of red cherry and currant.  Generous palate with good tannins and a long, lingering finish.

La Grand Noir Chardonnay/Viognier
France

The Languedoc region -- known as the "Pays d`Oc" -- hugs the bright blue Mediterranean Sea.  This area in Southern France is growing in renown for its quality wines, and currently offers the best values available in French wine. Le Grand Noir varietals come from vineyards of the area Carcassonne and the Minervois; which is considered the prime of the region. It is one of the oldest wine producing regions in Europe dating back to the medieval times. Le Grand Noir Chardonnay is vibrant yellow color, with intense aromas of lime and mango with hints of toasted vanilla.  Rich palate with lemon-lime flavors and subtle oak influences. Excellent length and finish. The addition of Viognier to the blend makes this offering very “consumer friendly”.

Gabbiano Chianti
Italy

Perhaps no region of the world personifies the warmth and graciousness of good food and great wine more completely than Tuscany. Its sunny slopes, medieval towns, and rich cultural history provide an irresistible setting for such inviting cuisine and wines. Gabbiano Chianti Classico is a bright, ruby red color in the glass, with a light floral bouquet reminiscent of violets and fruity blackberry on the nose. Rich tannins and flavors of black pepper, sweet spices, and a touch of light, toasted oak fill dry, medium-bodied palate, while the finish is persistent and clean.

Gabbiano Pinot Grigio
Italy

Gabbiano Pinot Grigio is a sunny straw-yellow color. Floral notes caress the nose, with nuances of pear and honeydew melon. Citrus flavors are evident on the palate delivering complex flavors of green apple, orange and faint lemon. The mouth feel is lively and full in structure created by the excellent harmony of fruit and acid. This wine is light-bodied, with a long finish that reveals hints of citrus and almonds. Enjoy with pasta primavera, or with grilled seafood.

14 Hands Cabernet Sauvignon
Washington State

Named after the wild horses that once made their home on the land upon which 14 Hands grapes are grown, the wine retains the individual spirit of its namesake. “14 Hands Cabernet Sauvignon features aromas of cherries and currants with subtle hints of spice and dried herbs. Fresh flavors of red fruit are complemented by a touch of cocoa and accentuated by fine, round tannins,” states the winemaker. Syrah, Merlot and Cabernet Franc were blended in to add fleshness, increase fruitiness and enhance mouth feel.

14 Hands Chardonnay
Washington State

Named after the wild horses that once made their home on the land upon which 14 Hands grapes are grown, the wine retains the individual spirit of its namesake. Chardonnay fruit was sourced throughout Washington State, including the Horse Heaven Hills, Yakima Valley and other parts of the Columbia Valley. “This fruit-driven Chardonnay offers aromas of freshly sliced apples and pears with a subtle floral lift. Judicious use of oak enhances structure and adds a hint of complexity without disguising the bright fruit flavors typical of Washington State. Balanced and juicy, this wine can stand alone as an apertif or partners well with seafood, chicken or pasta with cream sauce,” states the winemaker.

Pascual Toso Malbec
Argentina

In the summer of 1880, Mr. Pascual Toso left his birthplace in Canal D’ Alba Piamonte, Italy, and immigrated to Argentina. At that time he probably didn’t imagine that he would become the founder of a winery, which today, is one the oldest and most prestigious wineries in Argentina. Notes from Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The lineup starts with the 2007 Pascual Toso Malbec, forty percent of which was aged in American oak for 10 months. It reveals an alluring nose of black cherry and blueberry leading to a grapy, smooth-textured, forward wine with tons of flavor. Drink this crowd-pleaser over the next three years. It is an awesome value." (Dec. 2008)

Urban Uco Sauvignon Blanc
Argentina

Urban Uco is an organically produced Sauvignon Blanc from Argentina. A clean fresh example of Sauvignon Blanc, this wine's bright acidity makes it a great accompaniment to salads and veggies. “Pale, bright yellow. Clean, pure aromas of grapefruit, lime peel, quinine, flowers, mint and anise. Very fresh, dry and bright, conveying an almost salty impression of extract. In a bracing yet tactile style, with a gripping finish that shows refreshing citrus pith flavors and a touch of minerality. This has been a consistently excellent Sauvignon Blanc in recent vintages.” 89 Points, Stephen Tanzer.

May 21 - 27

Black Opal Cabernet/Merlot
Australia

Due to its class defying quality and appearance, Black Opal is the Australian gem that shines amongst the vast field of other Australian wines. A remarkably friendly and fruit-forward wine, Black Opal creates an impression of intrigue and sophistication at every occasion. The aromas display excellent regional and varietal characters of berry and spice. These scents follow through with rich cherry and plum flavors, a hint of chocolate and a subtle touch of oak. The flavors develop well and finish with a long finely textured mouth feel. The Cabernet Sauvignon (62%) provides depth and cellaring potential. The Merlot (38%) in this well-balanced blend softens the palate to ensure this wine is enjoyable to drink immediately.

Black Opal Chardonnay
Australia

A variety of premium vineyard sites throughout South Eastern Australia were chosen for this wine. Fruit was selected for its color and flavor intensity. Black Opal Chardonnay is a vibrant mid straw color. The bouquet has lovely aromas of peach, melon and cream, while the palate is rich and long with varietal Chardonnay fruit. The wonderful texture of this wine is complexed by the small portion of Malolactic fermentation, and the finish is long and dry.
