Loveblock Sauvignon Blanc
Marlborough, New Zealand
$19.99

New Zealand’s signature varietal tends to be bold and big. We are interested in texture and mouth-feel, rather than enhanced aromatics. To achieve this, a small portion of the wine goes through natural and malolactic fermentation, cutting the sharp edge off the palate.

The grapes are from the Loveblock vineyard, consisting of two distinctly different soil types (see Vineyards) and allowing a blend of flavors.
They wanted to make a more constrained wine, the unique aspect of the vineyard allows for minerality and a broad spectrum of flavors.

Tasting Notes:
Colour: Pale straw with a hint of green and gold.
Aroma: Complex and elegant Sauvignon Blanc bouquet, with pineapple, guava and sweet meadow grass aromas.
Palate: Rounded and textured, with pineapple, tropical fruit and a sweet basil edge followed by ripe peach on the back palate. A chalky minerality and complexity complements the fruit.
Food match: Oysters, seafood, pasta and chicken.
Organic status: Certified organic – BioGro #5266.
Cellar: Drink now and through 2025.

Kale Broken Axle
Stagecoach Vineyard
Napa Valley, California
$69.99

In 2008, Kale and Ranko Anderson set out to create Rhône inspired wines from extraordinary vineyards in Northern California under their own label, Kale Wines. Specializing in small production, handcrafted wines, Kale utilizes new technologies as well as ancient techniques to express the unique vineyards' most delicious characteristics.

Tasting Notes:
The Broken Axle is always dark and extracted, but the 2015 is especially dark due to the low yields from Stagecoach in 2015. Ripeness was achieved easily with the light crop. Blueberry, sweet baking spice and tanned leather frame a plush texture and silky tannins. We frequently pair this wine with cured meats and charcuterie - always a crowd pleaser. Optimum drinking window is 7-12 years.
61% Syrah, 39% Grenache

Scent of spices, pepper and black cherries with ripe red fruit and spicy flavors with a balanced tannic finish.

It finally happened—the world has awakened to one of its greatest wine treasures, the Produttori del Barbaresco. Since 1958, the Produttori has been the reference point for classic Barbaresco. And since their launching in 1967, the Produttori’s Riservas have been the defining expressions of Rabajà, Asili, Ovello and Barbaresco’s other noble vineyards.

“There are few producers making Barbaresco in the same class as the wines of the Produttori, but none who surpasses them.”
- Sheldon Wasserman

Tintero Langhe Arneis
Piedmont, Italy
$10.99

Brought to you by Kermit Lynch. In 1900 a Frenchman named Pierre Tintero set out for Piedmont in search of work. He found an opportunity to do odd jobs at a small estate where widow Rosina Cortese was struggling to handle all the work herself. Pierre, called “Pietrin” by the locals, quickly became a vital part of the estate and also fell in love with the widow, whom he married two years later. The couple continued to work the vines together and bottled their own Dolcetto for the first time just as war fell in 1914. Years later their grandson would find a stash of this vintage hidden within the walls of the cellar, certainly a precaution against ransacking troops who passed through the area.

Pietrin and Rosina’s two sons, Giovanni and Carlo, eventually took over the estate and expanded it by purchasing adjacent vineyard plots. Moscato was just a tiny part of their production since it is only practical to produce it in large quantities, but after the Second World War giants Cinzano and Martini began producing the wine, so the brothers planted more of the variety to sell to these negociants while they continued bottling their still wines themselves. It was not until the 1980s that Carlo’s son Elvio began experimenting with the challenging process of frizzante wine production, allowing the family to take advantage of the grape’s special affinity to the local terroir. Elvio has now handed the reins over to the next generation, but he continues to help his son Marco and daughter-in-law Cinzia run the estate.

The commune of Mango is the heart of Moscato country, and 20 of the Tinteros’ 30 hectares are planted to this grape. Their largest parcel is in the Sorì Gramella vineyard, whose full southern exposure and gradient of more than 20% pamper the grapes with many long hours of sunshine, without even casting shadows from one row to the next as is the case in most vineyards. The resulting wine is delightfully fizzy and slightly sweet, an irresistible combination that makes it a universal favorite. Marco also maintains that same spirit in his other wines, which are all fresh, easy, and fun to drink with friends.

Two Arrowheads White
Paso Robles, California
$12.99

TWO ARROWHEADS takes us back to the forest and the hunt for the mythical White Doe. Many believe the survivors of the mysterious Lost Colony of Roanoke found shelter with the nearby Croatoan tribe, led by Manteo. Among them may have been Virginia Dare, the first child of English descent born in the New World. The girl grew into a beautiful woman; she loved a young warrior named Okisko, but a jealous suitor put a spell on her. As legend has it, the fair maiden was transformed into a snow-white deer.

Many men chased the white doe, seeking to capture her elusive spirit and to prove their worth as warriors. Okisko, her true love, carried an enchanted arrow that would restore the doe to human form. Another hunter, Wanchese, shot to kill. As luck would have it, both men shot true, and the two arrowheads found their target at the exact same time. The white doe turned back into a beautiful woman, but it was too late; the warrior’s arrow had pierced her heart. The doe fell. Legend has it that in the same spot, a grapevine grew—the scuppernong, the first wine grapes cultivated in North America, now known as the Mother Vine. As the white doe’s blood soaked the soil, the grapes on the vine turned from white to red. With her last breath, the maiden revealed her true name, the name she had been born with: Virginia Dare.

There is a lusciousness to this vintage, but also vibrancy and a lighthearted character. The bouquet expresses exotic tones of lychee, peaches, and honeysuckle, but the striking minerality of other vintages is tempered this year, allowing citrus notes and floral nuances to shine. Silky on the palate, juicy flavors of pear and cloves are layered between zingy hints of lemon and quince, all of which crescendo on a fragrant finish.

Boneshaker Zinfandel Lodi
Lodi, California
$14.99

Boneshaker is a robust, full-throttle “old vine” Zinfandel from Lodi, California, a region known for its warm growing season and sandy soils. The main source of this Zinfandel, the Bruella Vineyard, is home to vines over sixty years old. Sustainably cultivated by the Mettler family, a fourth generation Lodi grower, these gnarled old vines produce fewer clusters and small berries with intense sugar, color, and a high concentration of bold fruit flavor.

Deep red and purple in color, this wine has welcoming aromas of dark fruits with a tinge of licorice. A sip reveals a bright, delicious, and fruity wine. Pairs well with pasta dishes.

Intense, raspberry, spice, medium bodied.

Frescobaldi Chianti Clasico Perano
Tuscany, Italy
$24.99

Sangiovese from Chianti Classico.

Tenuta Perano stands out for its bright purple color. Its bouquet alternates between floral aromas and notes of wild berries and cherry. Balsamic nuances and a subtle spiciness follow. The freshness and tannic texture add an element of surprise, elegantly caressing and slowly filling the palate. The intense and persistent finish leaves the palate clean and fresh.

Sea Smoke Southing Pinot Noir
Santa Rita Hills, Santa Barbara, California
$79.99

Estate grown wine made in limited quantities.

Winemaker Notes:
Each year, the goal for Southing is to create the ideal marriage of complexity and elegance. The ever-changing nose of the Southing exhibits Watermelon, Jasmine, Victoria plum; and subtle baking spices. The fine tannins and minerality are enhanced by the estate vineyard’s characteristic cool climate acidity.

For years, vintners have coveted a stretch of land in the western end of Santa Barbara's Santa Rita Hills AVA known to have the perfect microclimate, soils, and exposure to grow world-class Pinot Noir. In 1999, fulfilling a long-held dream of owner Bob Davids, this sought-after stretch of land became Sea Smoke Vineyard.

At Sea Smoke, we produce Pinot Noir grown exclusively on the south-facing hillsides of our estate vineyards. On summer evenings, the Santa Ynez River canyon funnels a cool maritime fog layer (sea "smoke") across our hillsides, slowing the ripening process and providing the extended maturation period essential to the development of top-quality Pinot Noir.

Our shallow clay soils are planted to French clones on vigor-reducing rootstocks, resulting in fewer grape clusters of intense flavor, and our artisinal approach to winemaking results in wines that are a reflection of the unique land on which they are grown.

We believe that Sea Smoke's rare geography and commitment to quality have produced wines of exceptional complexity and grace. We hope that you agree and welcome your comments.

Envidia Cochina Albariño
Spain
$27.99

The vineyards are located throughout the Salnés Valley; they average thirty years old and are farmed biodynamically.

Envidia Cochina Albariño is a young white wine made by Eladio Piñeiro in the D.O. Rías Baixas (Galicia) with the Albariño variety.

Envidia Cochina Albariño comes from unique terroirs located in the Salnés Valley (Pontevedra). These are vines aged over 30 years old planted on sandy loam soils and cultivated according to biodynamic principles and following lunar and cosmic cycles. When the grapes reach optimum ripeness, they are harvested manually.

Envidia Cochina Albariño is an Albariño made as it would have been in the past. A fresh, elegant and broad white wine from the past that is genuine through and through. The bottle label imitates a comic strip made with thermochromic ink. In other words, the colour will tell you whether the wine is at its best. Deliciously surprising!

Tasting Notes: Envidia Cochina Albariño is a white wine with abundant tears revealing a complex nose of white and yellow fruits, white flowers, salty notes and herbaceous notes. On the palate it is broad, oily and glyceric. A wine with an elegant mid-palate, balanced acidity and a long and persistent aftertaste.

Juggernaut Cabernet
California
$19.99

PURITY, INTENSITY AND SEAMLESS STRUCTURE
French oak beautifully transforms intense hillside fruit into a wine with uncommon richness and smooth, luxurious texture. Juggernaut Hillside Cabernet is a wine that is fierce, brave, and delicious.

WHY HILLSIDE VINEYARDS ARE SPECIAL FOR CABERNET SAUVIGNON
Steep hillside vineyards present the ultimate challenge. Mountainous terrain tests both the grower and the vine. But the results can be extraordinary.

Hillside vineyards have less access to water, with the rockier soil also holding fewer nutrients. These conditions stress the vines, resulting in the production of a fraction of the fruit of most vineyards. The harsh environment causes the vines to struggle, yielding fewer clusters and smaller berry size. The result is berries that are loaded with rich, ripe, intensely concentrated flavors and complexity. Hillside vineyards are special. So is the wine that is crafted from them.

Flavor Profile: Dense and velvety, with vanilla and ripe black currants.
Aromatics: Anise, black fruit and cassis.

11 Months in new French oak barrels

Broc Cellars Wirth Zinfandel
Solano County Green Valley, California
$26.99

Winemaker's Notes:
Zinfandel first came to California during the Gold Rush. It grows beautifully here - thriving in California’s soil. We love the older expressions of Zinfandel before it got a bad name in California for being high in alcohol and overly ripe. Wirth Vineyard’s Zinfandel is different from Vine Starr Zinfandel – it is slightly more concentrated with more tannins, notes of clove, cherry and beautiful acidity.

Wirth Vineyard’s Zinfandel was planted in 1948 on the vineyard’s hillside and thrives in the volcanic, iron-rich soils. The old vines are dry farmed with low yields - getting 1 ton per acre. Steve Wirth took over farming from his dad a few decades ago. He farms the vineyard using no synthetic herbicides, pesticides or fertilizers.

At Broc Cellars, all of the wines are made using spontaneous fermentation, a process that means they only use native yeasts and bacteria that exist on the grapes in order to make wine. They don’t add anything – this includes nutrients, yeast, bacteria, enzymes, tannins or other popular fermentation agents. Sulfur is a naturally occurring element in all wine, the amount found can vary. They add little to no S02, depending on the wine and style.

Gehricke Pinot Noir Sonoma Coast
Sonoma Coast, California
$21.49

Winemaker's Notes:
Inviting aromas of rhubarb pie, red cherries, raspberries and dried oregano leap from the glass. Soft and viscous on entry, a balanced acidity adds vibrancy to a developed mid-palate. This wine is full of ripe cherries and a touch of cinnamon spice with a long and warm finish.

18 months French oak

New Province Vast Empire IPA

Limited edition. Brewed right here in Rogers Arkansas. A double dry hopped IPA loaded with Sultana & Mackinac hops. Papaya, Orange Blossom, Resin. 7.4% ABV, 51 IBUs

Sierra Nevada Big Little Thing

Imperial IPA reigning in at 9.0% ABV, 45 IBUs. Make way for the Big Little Thing, an imperial IPA flexing a full malt body, restrained sweetness, and tropical hop flavors of mango, grapefruit and tangerine.

Combining Big Malt and Big Hops for a Big 9% ABV and a clean, tropical finish. A monster ABV and booming hop character, but tame sweetness and a clean finish? This anomaly of imperial IPA starts with the mash. More than just using a huge volume of malt , they mash our grain aggressively to yield a higher ratio of fermentable vs. unfermentable sugars. This allows yeast to metabolize nearly all sugar, which both boosts the ABV and cuts the malt sweetness. At the same time, yeast and hops collaborate on their own magic. Dry hopping during active fermentation sparks biotransformation: yeast cells alter the chemical compounds in hops to unlock entirely new aromas—like the tropical wave that washes over Big Little Thing.

Goller Dunkel, Lager, Original, Steinhaur

Founded in 1514, this is one of the oldest craft breweries in the world. The Göller family are twice recipients of the German Brewer of the Year award and the Göller beers have racked up a good number of national and international gold medals. Göller prides itself in working only with local grains for its brews from within kilometers of the brewery. This commitment to all things local comes from the Göller family's firm belief in the superior quality of their local grains and in their belief that this is the true spirit of craft: to not only be local but to buy local.

Oud Beersel Belgian Cherry Ale

Lambic-Fruit- 6.5% ABV. Whole fresh cherries are added to geuze (blend of young and old lambic), providing flavor and sparking another fermentation, resulting in nice complexity. It has the acidity of champagne, bouquet and delicate flavor of cherries, and balance of dryness.

King St. Vodka

After a particularly long day, I decided to host an impromptu cocktail party for my closest friends. As I prepared to whip up a batch of dirty vodka martinis I surveyed my bar, but I wasn’t 100% happy with my options. Then I wondered, “Are any of these vodkas founded by women?” I did some research, they weren’t. So, I decided to make my own just the way I like it. ~ Kate Hudson

Distilled seven times and crafted from premium ingredients in Santa Barbara.... yeah, we’d be talking about us too.

Catoctin's most popular whisky!  Roundstone Rye is a very unique rye whisky, made completely from scratch at their distillery in Purcellville, Virginia.  This pre-Prohibition style rye whisky is made from 100% rye grain, sourced locally when available.  It is mashed, fermented, distilled and aged completely in their distillery, before bottling it at a very sippable 80 proof.  Aged in new charred white oak casks for a period of around two years, the whisky is smooth, woody, with that true grain character achieved in a relatively young whisky. Roundstone Rye has a delicious woody taste, with notes of caramel, rich butter toffee, and just a hint of lemon in the nose.

Roundstone Rye is a superb sipping whisky, a great whisky in Manhattans, or your favorite rye whisky cocktails. Delicious mixed, on the rocks, or neat.  Try some this evening!

Score: 87 (Very Good, Strong Recommendation) "This one goes to 11!"
– Ultimate Spirits Challenge 2015
"This single-barrel rye is suitable for sipping or a dessert pairing. Look for bold sugar-cookie aromas and confectionery richness on the palate: vanilla, cocoa, hazelnut, maple sugar and mocha. The moderately long finish is marked by lemon peel and nutmeg."
– Kara Newman, Wine Enthusiast, January 2020
"Amber with an aroma of mint, spices and oak — inviting. A bright, sharp spiciness in the taste from the rye, clean, well-rounded and smooth. Gingerbread and fresh grasses. A solid rye."
– Modern Distillery Age, September 11, 2015
"A bottle of Roundstone Rye 92-proof is what you're looking for if you want your socks knocked off. Just the amount of spice you'd expect from a great rye, but it won't have you breathing fire."
– Men's Journal, September 3, 2014

Catoctin's "Distiller's Edition" of their very popular Roundstone Rye.  Only one in every ten barrels gets selected to be in the Roundstone Rye "92 Proof" whisky.
This whisky is the culmination of several years of planning.  "For a few years now, we've been putting whisky away for storage," remarked Becky Harris, Chief Distiller and President of Catoctin Creek Distilling Company.  "We pulled some of the more interesting barrels from the back of the barn and decided to release these at a higher proof:  a whisky specially curated for flavor, while still being remarkably smooth, as is our existing 80 proof Roundstone."
"We are very excited about this new product," said Scott Harris, Founder and General Manager of Catoctin Creek.  "We discussed this new product with customers like Jack Rose Whisky Saloon, The Passenger, and our distributors, and all agreed that this would be a great new product for the distillery.  And what's cool, since we're a small distillery, we can be responsive to this kind of market input."

Double Gold Medal
– San Francisco World Spirits Competition, April 24, 2017
Highest Recommendation "Do what you have to do to buy a bottle...or two."
— F. Paul Pacult's Spirit Journal, September 2016 / June 2017 ("Best of the Best" issue)
Score: 93 Pts "This is cask-strength rye whiskey that doesn’t taste like it’s cask-strength! Excellent!"

–The Spirits Business American Whiskey Masters 2016
Gold Medal and US Craft Other Grain Whiskey of the Year
– Wizards of Whisky World Awards 2016
Score: 9.0 "A well rounded number, full of intrigue.  Flavors are pronounced, but always in balance. Give this one a go!"
– American Whiskey June 2018
Score: 88.5 "A truly huge rye... Through a combination of sheer delicious belligerence and chutzpah has your taste buds swooning. Great fun!"
– Jim Murray's Whisky Bible 2014
"Notably dark and nutbrown in the glass, this unusual rye has rich aromas of dried date and molasses. The palate echoes those accents, showing dried date, fig, plum skin, molasses and toffee, with a long, rounded cocoa powder and clove fade. It's not overtly maple-y, but it's intriguing and would stand up well mixed with rich, sweet vermouths."
– Kara Newman, Wine Enthusiast, January 2020
"The 116 proof indicated on this bottle’s label prompts a double-take when sipping the whiskey. The alcohol burn is barely noticeable but the high ABV content does intensify the rye-forward profile and provides a never-ending finish. Subtle oak influence complements dried fruit and toffee notes."
– Tim McKirdy, Vinepair, October 2020

"The best we make!  Our most awarded whisky.
The cask proof version of our ever-popular Roundstone Rye is a very special expression.  Released at approximately 58% ABV (it varies depending on the individual barrels), this is seriously strong whisky!  Delicious, dark, complex and ridiculously smooth for the proof, Roundstone Rye Cask Proof is released only about twice per year."

Wilderness Trail Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey Single Barrel
Bottled in Bond

Distiller notes:
Our high in small grain Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskeys are offered as a Single Barrel – Bottled in Bond. Two special releases in one bottle! The Single Barrel selection offers nuances only premium cooper select barrels can create from their toasting and using 18-month-old air-dried staves. After all, the barrels impart a large part of the flavor.

In addition, the Bottled in Bond gives you assurance the Bourbon was properly distilled, aged between 5-6 years and bottled by us under the supervision of the U.S. Government at 100 proof.

What is the mashbill?

Our Bottled in Bond release mash bill is 64 percent corn, 24 percent wheat and 12 percent malted barley using our yeast strains. This is one of the highest ratios of wheat used in a Bourbon made in Kentucky. We entered the cooper select, toasted and #4 char barrel at 110 proof after coming off the still around 137 proof. All of our whiskeys are aged and matured on our 168-acre campus inside any one of our six rickhouses. We have more than 100,000 barrels aging onsite.

Silver Label Signals Wilderness Trail 6-Year Bourbon

Look for Wilderness Trail’s wheated and rye Bourbon with a silver label and a “6” on the neck tag and on the vertical label. The silver label mashbill for the wheated Bourbon is 64% corn, 24% wheat and 12% barley. For the rye Bourbon, the difference is 24% rye instead of wheat. The 6-year is deeper in character and richer in flavors found in more mature Bourbons. We hope you enjoy all the deliciousness of our Bourbons with this age statement.

Fee Brothers Botanical Waters

Fee Brothers has expanded their Botanical Waters line. Sometimes referred to as hydrosols, hydrolates, herbal waters or essential waters, Botanical Waters are the byproduct of the production of essential oils and are used in, amongst other things, the flavoring of food.

The best known of the Botanical Waters is Orange Flower Water, which is an essential ingredient in the Ramos Gin Fizz, a famous New Orleans cocktail.

Rose Water, the second Botanical Water in Fee Brothers line, has been around for centuries but has been rather hard to find in the United States.

Fee Brothers looked at the uses for Orange Flower Water and Rose Water and decided to extend our Botanical Waters line to offer Hibiscus, Lavender, and Jasmine Waters as well.

Consider the importance of aroma in food. So much time is spent addressing all the subtle possibilities of taste in cocktails. Botanical Waters are meant to tickle that important olfactory sense. Botanical Waters are one more way Fee Brothers is expanding your “Spice Rack behind the Bar.”
